Waters Opens New Swedish Head Office and Open Access Laboratory
On October 2, 2019, Waters proudly opened our new Swedish head office and laboratory in the House of Innovations, located in the center of Campus Solna next to Karolinska Institutet. The new facility features an open access laboratory designed to provide students, scientists and startup companies with an experienced technical staff and easy-to-use automation infrastructure for Waters LC and LC/MS instrumentation.
“This is a strategic initiative in line with our ambition to establish close relationships with the scientific community and our customers in the life science industry. Being close to a world leading medical university, Karolinska Institutet and one of the world’s most advanced hospitals, Karolinska University Hospital, Campus Solna is a perfect base for our Swedish business. We are proud to be in an area with such a long history of innovation and a strong connection to Sweden’s tradition as one of the world’s leading nations in medical research” said James Hallam, Vice President EMEA and India at Waters.
At the facility’s grand opening symposium, invited delegates toured the open access laboratory and discussed how collaboration between business and academia can drive innovation.

Waters has a long tradition of supporting research through technological innovation and we look forward to collaborate with them going forward” said Hans Möller, CEO at Karolinska Institutet Holding.
Waters’ President and CEO, Chris O’Connell also attended the grand opening and emphasized the strategic vision for the new facility,”This innovative space will be open to collaborators, researchers and entrepreneurs, and will further our efforts to Deliver Benefit by supporting the science that will advance human health and well-being.”
