Because the lab equipment is made of the same packing material as the CORTECS column, it works perfectly with it. The pre-column is a piece of protective equipment that sits between the injector and the analytical column and keeps chemical contaminants and suspended particulates out of the analytical column.

CORTECS Shield RP18 VanGuard Pre-Columns remove particulate contamination from the mobile phase stream, extending analytical column lifetime and performance. All CORTECS UPLC Shield RP18 analytical columns with 1.6 m sorbent particles are protected by this Pre-Column.
