ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 Column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 100 mm, 3/pk
With unprecedented levels of peak asymmetry, efficiency, and chemical stability, ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 Columns offer a robust chemistry that can operate at conditions of extreme pH. Because of this ability, chromatographers can then utilize a wide range of pH in order to influence retention, selectivity, and sensitivity of ionizable compounds. The ACUITY BEH C8 sorbent used in these columns is less retentive than the similar ACUITY BEH C18 sorbent, offering speed to method developers who may prefer this, while still improving peak shape and chromatographic performance.
ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 Columns are designed specifically for use with the ACQUITY UPLC system of lab equipment and are not recommended for use with HPLC systems. Using the full LC system allows for realization of the optimal linear velocity for both the particle and analyte. The ACQUITY UPLC system is designed to allow chromatographers to harness the full power and potential of sub 2 µm particle columns due to ultra-low system volume, a fast and sensitive low volume detector, intelligent software, negligible carryover, and ability to run at higher backpressures generated by small particles. The column should be used with compatible equipment such as the ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 VanGuard Pre-column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.
As the most technologically advanced columns ever created, ACQUITY UPLC columns use proprietary procedures to ensure reproducibility, along with new packing stations and methods. ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 Columns incorporate eCord technology, a step towards the paperless laboratory that allows easy access to history of the column’s use and test results.
How Do ACQUITY UPLC Columns Facilitate Easy Transfer From HPLC?
For years, scaling calculations involved in method transfer were performed manually, which was known to be time-consuming and error-prone. With the ACQUITY UPLC columns calculator, method developers now have access to an easy-to-use, powerful software tool that accurately handles the scaling calculations required to convert isocratic or gradient HPLC methods to UPLC methods. The calculator provides a selection of UPLC methods for the chromatographer to choose the most important elements: maximum speed, maximum resolution, or a combination of both. This allows for easier migration at a faster speed and with more accuracy.
