Waters takes great pride in delivering the highest quality of service and support over the entire course of your systems’ lifetime. However, there does come a time when Waters cannot provide all the parts or support necessary to maintain older systems.
Per Waters’ previous communication in 2017, all IEEE instruments are on Limited Support as of 31 December 2018. To further align our products, after the release of Empower 3 Feature Release 5 Service Release 4, Waters will no longer be offering Empower defect corrections or enhancements related to IEEE control in any release of Empower. As a result, support for IEEE instrument control will cease in all versions of Empower after the release of Empower 3 Feature Release 5 Service Release 4. Furthermore, if you use IEEE instrument control beyond Empower 3 Feature Release 5 Service Release 4, please be aware that it has not been tested.
Consequently, Waters is encouraging all remaining customers with IEEE equipment to plan at the minimum to upgrade to Empower 3 Feature Release 5 Service Release 4 at your earliest convenience to ensure that you receive the best possible technical support for your systems. Waters further encourages customers to replace any remaining IEEE systems (600, 2487, 2996 etc.) attached to single- and multi-system busLAC/E cards with Waters modern products. Discounts may be available through System Trade-In programs from your local Waters representatives. Upgrade programs may also be available in some limited cases. Our representatives are also available to assist you with developing a business justification to support the purchase of replacement products and we have additional personnel that are available to help with planning a smooth transition from old to new, with minimal impact on your productivity, upon placement of your order.
