Analysis of Complex Peptide Mixtures using a Mass Spectrometer Incorporating a Traveling Wave Ion Mobility Devices
In this poster we describe the use of an ion mobility
spectrometer coupled with time-of-flight mass spectrometry for the
separation and mass analysis of peptides. IMS provides an additional
stage of separation and can improve signal to noise by the removal of
singly charged background ions from multiply charged peptides. Post IMS
fragmentation can be used to associate fragment ions with their
precursor ions, providing extra specificity.
