Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common cause of adult dementia. The cause of this inexorable neurodegenerative disease remains still elusive. In addition, there are no clinical biomarkers for AD and the diagnosis can be made only through brain autopsy. Alterations in both lipid and polar metabolites biochemical pathways have been associated with AD. Here we conducted an unbiased investigation of the underlying molecular alterations in AD human tissues for Biomarker Discovery and Clinical Research.
