Pullulan Kit
Waters’ Pullulan Kit contains a unique collection of 8 different GFC standards designed for molecular weight determination. Each standard is used for aqueous MW testing. The primary application is gel filtration and the product is a standard kit with one unit per package. It supports GPC, GFC, and SEC separation modes with RI/ELSD and UV detection methods. If you’re searching for new and improved lab equipment, you can explore the full collection of products that Waters has available. We offer a wide variety and a vast selection of many pieces of lab equipment, including columns, cartridges, standards kits, and much more. Depending on your separation mode and application, you may wish to take a look at our MassPREP Protein Standard Mix or another similar product for use in your laboratory.
This specific Pullulan Kit includes 200 mg each of the following approximate molecular weight standards: · 5000 · 10000 · 20000 · 50000 · 100000 · 200000 · 400000 · 800000
The sample solutions are easy to handle due to the fact that they are stable without agglomeration, crystallization, or electrical charge. Pullulan is also not adsorbed to column packing materials, making it as good as molecular weight standard for calibration for Size Exclusion Chromatography.
Standards have a shelf life of 36 months when stored at 4 degrees Celsius in an appropriate refrigerator unit. After reconstitution, the shelf life of a standard becomes one week, making it an excellent option for molecular weight determination across a variety of gel filtration applications and GPC, GFC, and SEC separation modes. This kit provides allowance of exceptional results and optimal efficiency.
What Is Pullulan?
Pullulan is a polysaccharide polymer that consists of maltotriose units. It is mainly used by the cell in order to resist desiccation and predation, though the presence of pullulan also facilitates diffusion of molecules both into and out of the cell. Because it is edible, yet mostly tasteless, the main commercial use of pullulan is in the manufacturing of edible films like those found in breath-freshening strips and other similar oral hygiene products. It is also sometimes found as a food additive labeled by the E number E1204.
