Iodoacetamide (IAM) is an alkylating agent, used to prevent disulfide bond reformation after reducing proteins. IAM is provided in an amber glass bottle with screw top cap with 53 mg IAM in powder form and comes as a 8/pk enough to run 96 samples total or each bottle can run approximately 12 samples at a time (prepared fresh and then discarded). This is provided as a supplemental reagent to the PeptideWorks Tryptic Protein Digesiton Kits for customers who would like to purchase individually. To prepare: Dissolve contents of 53 mg bottle in 2.7 mL of 18.2 MΩ H2O. IAM should be prepared fresh and used within a day and discarded. Refer to the PeptideWorks care and use manual for more detailed infomation regarding use and storage conditions.
