Oasis WCX 3 cc Vac Cartridge, 60 mg Sorbent per Cartridge, 30 µm, 100/pk
With innovative sorbent technology and hardware design, the Oasis family of lab equipment is highly regarded as the first choice in solid-phase extraction (SPE), trusted by separation scientists across the globe. As part of the family of Oasis sorbents, Oasis WCX is a mixed-mode weak cation-exchange and reversed-phase sorbent that was designed for high selectivity and sensitivity in strongly basic compounds. The use of an Oasis WCX 3 cc Vac Cartridge provides superior sample preparation for those working with strong bases and quaternary amines.
As a weak cation-exchange, mixed-mode, water wettable, polymeric sorbent, Oasis WCX has all the advantages of the original Oasis HLB sorbent and remains stable from pH 0 to 14. The rugged and highly selective SPE methods that use an Oasis WCX 3 cc Vac Cartridge are able to confirm and quantify strongly basic compounds and quaternary amines in biological fluids.
Because of the water wettable nature of the sorbent, Oasis WCX maintains the capability for higher retention and improved recoveries even when the sorbent runs dry, preventing the need for extra steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the steps prior to sample loading.
The Oasis WCX 3 cc Vac Cartridge is a syringe barrel-style cartridge, designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments. These ultra-clean syringe barrels and frits can be used with the XBridge BEH C18 Method Validation Kit, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 2.1 mm X 100 mm, 3/pk.
The novel and well-controlled production process at Waters is able to reproducibly deliver Oasis WCX with 0.75 meq/g of carboxylic acid ion-exchange capacity.
What Is The Oasis 2x4 Method?
The Oasis 2x4 method is a simple and logical approach to the selection of an SPE sorbent and protocol, using two protocols and four sorbents. This provides the flexibility to extract acids, bases, and neutrals with high SPE recoveries, while removing matrix components that may interfere with analysis. Oasis 2x4 includes the following steps: characterize your analytes, select one of the four Oasis sorbents, then apply protocol 1 or 2 based on these decisions. You can then determine SPE recoveries by LC analysis and proceed.
