Product Description

The 6 cc Oasis MAX cartridges contain the Oasis MAX, which is a novel, mixed-mode polymeric sorbent that has been optimized to achieve higher selectivity and sensitivity for extracting acidic compounds with anion-exchange groups. Since the Oasis MAX sorbent is water wettable, it maintains its capability for higher retention and excellent recoveries even if the sorbent runs dry, which means there is no need to take extraordinary steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Oasis MAX 6 cc Vac Cartridge, 150 mg Sorbent per Cartridge, 30 µm, 30/pk

Developed by Waters beginning in 1996, the Oasis family of sorbents offer a unique, water-wettable polymeric sorbent that can be used without the conditioning and equilibration steps that are required by other polymeric and silica-based sorbents. Without these steps that were historically required to achieve retention of analytes, Oasis allows direct loading of aqueous samples without sacrificing recovery. As part of this family, Oasis MAX is a mixed-mode anion exchange sorbent with a tightly controlled ion exchange capacity of 0.25 meq/g.

Oasis MAX 6 cc Vac Cartridge contains 150 mg of this sorbent that ensures reproducible SPE protocols for the extraction of acidic compounds and metabolites from biological fluids. With no silanol groups to complicate the retention mode or method development, the sorbent is stable from pH 0 to 14, enabling simple and fast method development. The water-wettable nature of the sorbent allows it to maintain high retention and excellent recoveries even when the sorbent has run dry.

Chromatographers use Oasis MAX for SPE procedures necessitating selectivity and ruggedness, as Oasis MAX enables the separation of analytes from complex samples into two fractions: acidic compounds and basic/neutral compounds. These fractionated extracts can be analyzed by multiple analysis methods or even multiple techniques like LC/MS.

This innovative sorbent is paired with Waters high-quality lab equipment in a 6 cc Vac Cartridge featuring a syringe barrel that has been designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments. Each package includes 30 polypropylene cartridges with individual capacities of 150 mg. The cartridges are compatible with multiple analysis products from Waters, such as the PFC Analysis Kit.

What Particle Size Should I Choose For My SPE?

Oasis products, including cartridges and plates, are available in two particle sizes: 30 µm and 60 µm. This allows chromatographers to choose the appropriate product for their application, usually based on the viscosity and turbidity of the sample being used. For extraction of most plasma, serum, or human urine, the 30 µm sorbent is recommended. When a sample is more viscous, like animal urine, better flow is often achieved using the 60 µm sorbent. The 60 µm is also recommended for whole blood samples.
