Product Description

The non-endcapped Resolve packings are significantly different from Waters’ other packing materials. The change in chromatographic behavior is most commonly noticed with polar compounds which are typically more retained.

Resolve C18 Guard-Pak Insert, 90Å, 10 µm, 10/pk

The Waters Guard-Pak™ Holder is a small, self-contained housing for our unique disposable Guard-Pak Inserts. The Guard-Pak Holder and inserts, which are installed in-line with your HPLC system immediately before the analytical column, protect analytical LC columns from the gradual accumulation of particulates and chemical contaminants originating from the sample. Waters' other packing materials are noticeably different from the non-end-capped Resolve packings. The most common change in chromatographic behavior is observed with polar compounds, which are typically more retained.

Resolve C18 Guard-Pak Inserts are produced in world-class facilities, ensuring the highest quality industry standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). You can shop for lab equipment to meet the demanding needs of your laboratory by using our website or browsing through our brochure.

The nanoEaseTM M/Z columns are optimized for nano- to micro-scale liquid chromatographic separation, providing the highest sensitivity, resolution, and reproducibility for biomarker discovery, protein identification, and characterization. The 300m ID columns are constructed using an ultra-low dispersion column design and provide the same ease of use as more traditional columns. They can withstand 15k psi operating pressure and handle pressure fluctuations during injection extremely well, providing superior longevity. It is critical to ensure proper connections are made to minimize peak tailing and poor efficiency in order to achieve maximum performance. Waters' patented BEH Technology 130A pore, C18, 1.7um particles are used in this offering. Before being accepted as a Peptide separation column, each batch is QC tested using a gradient separation of a tryptic digest of cytochrome c.

What Is the Difference Between C8 And C18 HPLC Columns?

Two different kinds of straight-chain alkyl groups, C8 and C18, are employed in HPLC's reverse-phase chromatography to modify silica's surface. An aqueous, moderately polar mobile phase is used in reverse-phase chromatography. The primary distinction between C8 and C18 columns used in HPLC is that the C8 columns' stationary phase contains octyl carbon chain (C8)-bonded silica, whereas the C18 column contains octadecyl carbon chain (C18)-bonded silica. Furthermore, C8 columns are less hydrophobic and have a lower density, whereas C18 columns are more hydrophobic and have a higher density. As a result, C8 columns have a low retention time, whereas C18 columns have a higher retention time. As a result, the C8 columns achieve lower separation, whereas the C18 columns achieve higher separation.
