Why Does My L.C. System Keep Shutting Down Repeatedly?

HPLC pumps and systems have an overpressure setting to ensure system safety and to protect the columns and equipment. If your system is set too low or has too much backpressure, the pump may stop down to protect the L.C. system. Other causes could be that the lines need to be cleaned or that residual or crystallized material is blocking/choking the system.
