Styragel GPC Column, 5 µm, 7.8 mm X 300 mm, 50 K – 4 M, 1/pk
Styragel GPC Columns have been designed for use with low molecular weight samples, making them ideal for the analysis of oligomers, epoxies, and polymer additives where high resolution is especially critical. Packed with rigid 5 µm particles, these columns are able to deliver unprecedented resolution and efficiency in the area of low to mid molecular weight range, complete with the high plate counts needed to complete this type of analysis.
Waters has over 40 years of experience in crafting and refining lab equipment and other technology to optimize the practice of Gel Permeation Chromatography, facilitating the expansion of techniques beyond the original polymer analysis. This has made way for applications to be developed that separate small and large molecules from interfering matrices. This includes applications in food, pharmaceutical preparation, and natural product industries. As a GPC market leader, Waters is able to offer high-quality GPC products alongside expert application support and additional materials, including the Polystyrene ReadyCal Standards 2 mL Kit.
All columns are manufactured in facilities that follow strict FDA, ISO, and cGMP guidelines, creating reproducible technology that is at the forefront of separation science. Each column is packed using high-performance, fully porous, highly cross-linked styrene-divnylbenzene copolymer particles.
Columns are shipped in three solvents: toluene, tetrahydrofuran (THF), and dimethylformamide (DMF). This Styragel GPC Column has dimensions of a 7.8 mm inner diameter, 300 mm length, and are sold individually. The molecular weight range is 50,000 to 4 million.
When Should I Perform Efficiency Tests on Styragel GPC Columns?
Efficiency tests should be performed each time you add a column or otherwise make a change to your system. As you use a system, efficiency tests should continue to be conducted on a regular basis. If problems occur during normal operations with your column, repeat the conditions of your initial efficiency test and compare the results. Instrument band spreading can also be monitored by performing a column efficiency test without the column in line. Excessive band spreading should be resolved before installing the columns. Slight variations may occur based on the equipment used, the nature of the sample, and the instrument settings.
