Styragel GPC Column, 5 µm, 7.8 mm X 300 mm, 500 - 30K, 1/pk
The Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) technology and innovation used in the Waters Styragel GPC Column have changed how scientists traditionally studied synthetic polymers and macromolecules. It provides critical information to scientists that is difficult to obtain by other methods.
The Styragel GPC Column is the result of the efforts of Waters to continue to refine the instrumentation, packing materials, and technology to improve GPC analysis. The research and innovations made possible with these efforts allow size-exclusion techniques to expand outside of the original polymer analysis. These techniques include applications for separating small and large molecules from interfering matrices such as those found in foods, pharmaceutical preparations, and natural products.
The Styragel GPC Column is a piece of lab equipment that has been designed especially for low molecular weight samples. It is ideally suited for the analysis of oligomers, epoxies, and polymer additives where high resolution is critical. Since the Styragel GPC Column is packed with rigid 5 µm particles, you can achieve unrivaled resolution and efficiency in the low-to-mid molecular weight region in your chromatographic analysis and be certain that the results are reliable, without needing to repeat the analysis.
Use the Styragel GPC Guard Column, 20 µm, 4.6 mm X 30 mm, 100 - 10K, 1/pk to protect your analytical column and ensure it serves a long time as lab equipment. The Guard Column has been designed to protect the Styragel GPC Column from any particulate or chemical contamination. This results in more accurate results and ensures that you do not need to replace the analytical column repeatedly.

What Resolution Do I Need With The Styragel GPC Column?
In GPC analysis, resolution means the range of molecular weight separated in an incremental volume of elution and should be maximized whenever possible. The simplest way to achieve this to add more columns. In addition to this, using a smaller particle size (~ 5u ) will maximize the resolution and will increase efficiency. In separations where oligomers, additives, multi-modal distributions, are present, resolution may be important. If the sample is a high-density polyethylene with a broad distribution, resolution may not be as important.
