Nova-Pak C8 Guard-Pak Insert, 60Å, 4 µm, 10/pk

Use the Nova-Pak C8 Guard-Pak Insert as it is designed to protect your analytical HPLC column from harm by removing chemical and particulate matter from the mobile stream. It is important to note that sorbents that are used in the Waters Guard-Pak inserts are identical to the sorbents that are used in Waters HPLC columns and cartridges. Therefore, to obtain optimum performance, it is crucial to use an insert with the same sorbent as the one in the column or cartridge being used. The product listed here can be used with a µPorasil column or cartridge of 4 µm particle size.

The 4 µm small particle size of Nova-Pak bonded phases offers high resolution, more efficient results, and faster chromatography by using shorter columns, reducing solvent consumption, or by using longer columns to resolve even the most complex mixture.

You may observe some loss of efficiency when using the Nova-Pak C8 Guard-Pak Insert with high-performance/low-volume columns. It is recommended that the same precautions be followed as with analytical columns when using the guard holder and insert. To prevent precipitation inside the insert, only use miscible eluents.

Like all our manufactured products, the Nova-Pak C8 Guard-Pak Insert is made using ultra-pure reagents under the strictest conditions. These stringent QC procedures in our cGMP manufacturing facility ensure batch-to-batch reproducibility.

Waters recommends that you also invest in the LCMS Certified Clear Glass 12 x 32 mm Screw Neck Vial, with Cap and Preslit PTFE/Silicone Septum, 2 mL Volume, 100/pk so that your analytes can be stored in a safe, certified, and chemically stable environment. Waters offers the only certified vials in the market that are tested with mass spectrometers and come packaged with a certificate of analysis showing the reference and vial scan for the manufacturing lot.

When Should The Nova-Pak C8 Guard-Pak Insert Be Replaced?

It is recommended that the Nova-Pak C8 Guard-Pak Insert be replaced before any contaminants appear in the chromatogram. To obtain the best results, replace the inert after you have completed a set of analyses or after running 50-100 samples. You may also want to replace the insert when you observe an increase in backpressure significantly.
