BioResolve RP mAb Columns contain 2.7 µm superficially-porous-silica particles having an average pore diameter of 450Å. The particles are functionalized with a proprietary polyphenyl bonding process that was specifically designed for LC or LC-MS analyses of intact IgG monoclonal antibodies and their fragments.

BioResolve Phenyl Guard Column, 450Å, 2.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 30 mm, 1/pk
When you’re hard at work in the lab developing or performing separations, the last thing you want is to use an analytical column that may be too fouled or damaged to operate at peak performance. But thanks to Waters, we’re happy to provide a way to prevent your analytical columns from becoming too fouled or damaged. Our solution is the BioResolve Phenyl Guard Column. This guard column incorporates seamlessly into your existing workflow to provide enhanced protection from contaminants that may foul your column. It’s important to note that the BioResolve Phenyl Guard Column is no replacement for following proper sample purification protocols. This is an add-on to your workflow that’s designed to remove particulate contaminants from the mobile phase stream as it flows through it. What’s more, this guard column can even extend your analytical column’s overall lifetime, leading to assay after assay of successful LC-MS separations and analyses. Add the BioResolve Phenyl Guard Column to your workflow to take the guesswork out of column contamination.
Column contamination should always be at the forefront of your mind, but this obstacle is easily dealt with by putting in proper preventative measures like the BioResolve Phenyl Guard Column. For a BioResolve Column to operate successfully, it must be able to withstand extreme chromatographic conditions and repeated use for your precious separations. Although proper sample purification protocols remove many of the contaminants that could foul your column, they don’t account for anything that may be stuck in your LC-MS system waiting to get out via the mobile phase stream. This column, installed between the analytical column and mobile phase injector, acts as an extra barrier for your analytical column from contaminants. As soon as contaminants flow toward your analytical column, your BioResolve Phenyl Guard Column will pick them up and remove them from your workflow. Plus, this guard column can be used repeatedly.
Proper column protection is just one of the many ways you can prevent contaminants from entering your analyses. To further prevent contaminants, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and testing your LC-MS and LC systems and instruments before performing any separations. To verify proper performance for monoclonal antibody separations, we recommend using the Intact mAb Mass Check Standard.
We have much more than just column protection solutions at Waters. Shop lab equipment to explore all of our offerings.
