Its high-density DIOL surface bonding provides chromatography that is similar to that of the traditional unbonded silica phases. However, when used with acidic or basic additives, it adds an overall robustness of method. The Torus Diol (OH) OBD Prep Column is based on new bonding technology used to create an adaptive selectivity platform. Starting with the ethylene bridged hybrid (BEH) particle, the patent-pending bonding consists of a two-stage functionalization of chromatographic particles, where the first stage controls retention characteristics and is applied to each sorbent. In the second stage, selectors impart the observed selectivity and control peak shape.

The Torus packing materials have been designed specifically for use with the ACQUITY UPC2 Systems and for the Waters SFC Purification Systems. The Torus Columns are manufactured in an ISO-certified plant with ultra-pure reagents. In addition to this, each batch of Torus particles is tested and the results are held to stringent specification ranges to assure excellent, reproducible performance. Individual tests are also performed on every column and a Performance Chromatogram and Certificate of Batch Analysis are provided.

We recommend that you also purchase the Torus Diol (OH) Prep Guard Cartridge, 130Å, 5 µm, 30 mm X 10 mm, 1/pk, which is made using the identical packing material that is used to manufacture the Torus Diol (OH) OBD Prep Column. The guard cartridge is designed to specifically work with the prep column and to enhance its lifetime by protecting it from harm such as the presence of unwanted chemicals and particulate contaminants.
