CORTECS T3 Column, 120Å, 2.7 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk
Compared to other solid-core columns with traditional C18 bonded phases, CORTECS T3 Columns offer reproducible and superior retention for polar and non-polar analytes alike. While CORTECS T3 columns utilize a C18 bonded phase, polar molecule retention is improved by two main features.
Improved access of polar analytes to the silanol groups of the underlying base particle gives better polar interactions, increasing polar retention. This is enabled using a lower C18 bonding density than other lab equipment on the market offers. Additionally, improved resistance to dewetting is available with CORTECS T3. Also known as “phase collapse,” dewetting happens with low or no organic solvent mobile phase compositions when the eluent is forced out of stationary-phase pores. This leads to a loss of interactions, reduced retention, and often peak distortion. By using particles with a wider pore size and lower bonding density, resistance to dewetting is possible with CORTECS T3 Columns. This combination of features leads to reproducible use of eluents containing low or no organic solvent, allowing for maximum retention.
CORTECS T3 Columns are optimized to extend the performance of HPLC and UPLC instruments, offering the flexibility to quickly separate a wide range of compound classes. Compared with columns using fully-porous substrates, the efficiency provided by the 2.7 µm particle size offers sharper and narrower peaks, leading to faster flow rates at lower operational backpressure.
The column has an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 150 mm. Columns are sold one per package but are available as CORTECS T3 Column, 120Å, 2.7 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 3/pk as well.
How Should I Connect My CORTECS T3 Column?
CORTECS T3 Columns with a 2.7 µm particle size are designed to operate on any HPLC, UHPLC, or UPLC system. Because there is no industry standard, it is important to be aware that the type of fittings and connection on each system will vary by manufacturer. All tubing connections must be reseated to match the new column when it is installed. If the style of the column end fitting does not properly match the system connections, the chromatographic performance of your new column could be negatively impacted or leak.
