Spherisorb C8 OBD Prep Column, 80Å, 5 µm, 10 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk
Spherisorb C8 columns are general-purpose reversed-phase columns made of silica and containing an Octyl ligand. These USP L7 columns are used when a less retentive sorbent is required, as opposed to the Spherisorb ODS columns. Spherisorb C8 OBD Prep Columns are produced in dedicated and strictly controlled Waters chromatography chemistry plants to ensure the highest and strictest industry conditions in order to meet cGMP and ISO 9002. As a result, you can count on the Spherisorb C8 Columns to provide the most important performance characteristics, such as peak symmetry, column lifetime, column efficiency, and column-to-column reproducibility.
This Reversed Phased Spherisorb C8 OBD Prep Column can be easily used within a pH range of 2 to 8, up to a maximum temperature of 45C, and can sustain a pressure of 6000 psi (or 415 Bar). The lab equipment also supports a Pore size of 80 Å and can hold a Carbon Load of 6%.
With the right lab equipment, you can boost your productivity and efficiency. Check out our shop for lab equipment by browsing through our website or refer to our catalog, and make sure your lab needs are met as needed. There, you can review the additional lab equipment Waters offers, such as the Spherisorb C8 Column, or find additional products that are compatible with it.
You might also be interested in Preparative Chromatography Mix Standard; the Quality Control Reference Material portfolio contains a diverse range of standards and mixtures. These products enable the user to evaluate and benchmark their chromatography system prior to performing critical material analysis. The portfolio's products have all been specially formulated based on the expertise of Waters scientists. In DMSO, 5 mg/mL of Diclofenac sodium salt, Diphenhydramine hydrochloride, and Flavone are used as the Preparative Chromatography Standard. This standard mix should be used to confirm your Preparative/purification system's benchmark performance. This QC Reference Material is a specially formulated blend of void markers, and neutral, acidic, and basic compounds. It is compatible with a wide range of column chemistries and dimensions, as well as system hardware.
How Is Enrichment Achieved In Low Concentration Sample Components?
There are several steps that can be taken to enrich sample components that are present in low concentrations. You can tailor the gradient steps to selectively elute analytes. Using "large" sample volumes in an adsorption-promoting solvent is another effective method. Use a "small" collection volume in a desorption-promoting solvent. Use analyte-specific sorbent chemistry that is distinct from that used in the analytical column. The chemistry of the solid-phase extraction column should be carefully selected so that no additional sample preparation is required.
