XSelect HSS C18 Column, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 2.1 mm X 30 mm, 1/pk
The HSS C18 column is a general-purpose C18 bonded phase column with a superior base peak shape, higher retention (than XBridge C18 columns), and long column lifetimes at low pH. HSS C18 columns will have selectivity and retention comparable to most modern, completely end-capped, high-coverage silica-based C18 columns. The HSS C18 packing is the most stable commercially available bonded phase and is free of the peak shape issues that plagued older stationary phases that relied on steric protection (and a lack of end-capping) to achieve low pH stability. The HSS C18 HPLC columns are fully scalable and can be used for UPLC separations.
To improve the chromatographic performance of the "Ethylene Bridged Hybrid" (BEH) and "Charged Surface Hybrid" (CSH) particles, Waters created the HSS—High Strength Silica technology that is used in the XSelect HSS C18 Column. The properties of the XSelect HSS C18 Column allow it to withstand UPLC pressures, make it fully scalable and transferable to UPLC separations, and provide you with system benefits such as improved polar compound and different selectivity.
A variety of particle technologies are required to handle complex samples and ensure that various types of food and other components can be researched in depth using chromatography. Waters has developed a wide range of lab equipment, including columns that use unique, distinct, and exclusive particle technologies to ensure that your lab runs smoothly. With the use of the XSelect HSS C18 Column, any chromatographic difficulties can be overcome by using carefully chosen ligands that work in conjunction with CSH and HSS technology in Waters products.
For complex samples, it is critical to isolate and quantify sample constituents using a high resolution during separations. What Pressures And pH Levels Can The XSelect HSS C18 Column withstand?
The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column's recommended operational pH range is 1 to 8. Although the XSelect HSS C18 SB Column is designed to withstand pressures of 6000 psi (or 415 bar), exceeding the maximum range can have a significant impact on the column's longevity and efficacy.
