Product Description

XBridge BEH HILIC columns contain unbonded BEH substrate and are designed to retain and separate very polar compounds. These unique columns are optimized and tested to produce efficient, reproducible separations under HPLC HILIC conditions. More rugged than silica based HILIC phases, the BEH particle’s chemical stability results in long column lifetimes. Packed in ultra-low dispersion hardware, 2.5 µm eXtended Performance [XP] columns enable exceptional separation performance, robustness and throughput for HPLC assays while enabling a seamless transition path toward UPLC adoption.

XBridge BEH HILIC XP Column, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 3 mm X 100 mm, 1/pk

With unbonded BEH substrate, XBridge BEH HILIC Columns are designed specifically to retain and separate very polar compounds and are optimized to produce efficient, reproducible separations under HPLC HILIC conditions. These columns provide alternative selectivity to reversed-phase columns, along with improvements in peak shape, retention, and column lifetime when compared to silica-based HILIC columns. The addition of rugged and robust BEH Technology allows XBridge BEH HILIC Columns to set a new standard in performance for HILIC separations.

Packed in ultra-low dispersion hardware, these columns are part of the eXtended Performance (XP) line of lab equipment from Waters, enabling exceptional separation performance, robustness, and throughput in HPLC assays while enabling a seamless transition path toward UPLC adoption. The high organic fraction can be directly injected with XBridge BEH HILIC XP Columns, eliminating the need for evaporation and increasing sample throughput.

Because of the BEH particle’s chemical stability, which surpasses that of silica-based HILIC phases, the XBridge BEH HILIC XP Column exhibits long column lifetimes, providing several thousand injections without performance decrease as a result of chemical degradation. This can be further extended through the use of XBridge BEH HILIC XP VanGuard Cartridge, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.

All XBridge BEH HILIC XP Columns are manufactured in a cGMP, ISO 9001 certified facility to control chemical compositions and purity in the final product. The well-controlled manufacturing processes used ensure industry-leading reproducibility between batches. Each column is individually tested and includes an eCord Intelligent Chip, which provides a Performance Chromatogram and Certificate of Batch Analysis.

How Should XBridge BEH HILIC XP Columns Be Stored?

After a HILIC separation, columns that need to be stored for more than four days should be stored in 95/5 acetonitrile/water. Never store columns in buffered eluents. If the mobile phase contains a buffer salt, then flush the column with 10 column volumes of HPLC water, then 10 column volumes of 95/5 acetonitrile/water. If this step is not performed, it could lead to precipitation of the buffer salt of the column when 95% acetonitrile is introduced. Be sure to completely seal the column to avoid solvent evaporation and drying out of the bed.
