Product Description

XBridge BEH Shield RP18 columns complement the XBridge BEH C18 and C8 phases and provide a necessary and powerful tool for HPLC method development. The embedded carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand provides alternate selectivity, especially for phenolic compounds compared to straight chain alkyl columns. Packed in ultra-low dispersion hardware, 2.5 µm eXtended Performance [XP] columns enable exceptional separation performance, robustness and throughput for HPLC assays while enabling a seamless transition path toward UPLC adoption.

XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 3 mm X 50 mm, 1/pk

The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column is an excellent choice to achieve superior bases. The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column exhibits reduced silanol interactions with basic analytes because of the embedded Shield Technology. This technology provides a shielding effect in the sample, deactivating interactions with basic analytes, and thereby helps provide highly symmetrical and improved peak shapes and efficient peaks. This phenomenon contrasts with other regular C18 columns that exhibit poor peak symmetry due to secondary interactions with basic compounds on account of weak cation exchange with residual surface silanols.

The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column has been designed to complement other XBridge offerings, such as the XBridge BEH C18 and C8 phase, and provide the necessary tool for HPLC method development. The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column has been created such that the carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand provides alternate selectivity, especially for phenolic compounds, in contrast to regular straight-chain alkyl columns. The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column is built on eXtended Performance (XP) ultra-low dispersion hardware that enables the column to deliver exceptional separation performance, robustness, and throughput for HPLC assays while enabling a seamless transition path toward UPLC adoption.

We recommend you also explore the Waters XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP VanGuard Cartridge, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk; the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 VanGuard Cartridges are used to extend analytical column lifetime and performance by removing particulate contamination from the mobile phase stream. This cartridge is optimized to protect all 2.1 mm and 3.0 mm I.D. XBridge BEH Shield RP18 analytical columns containing 2.5 µm sorbent particles.

What Is The Significance Of The Term Elution?

Elution is the chromatographic process of using a solvent to extract an adsorbed substance from a solid adsorbing medium or the removal of antibodies from the antigen to which it is attached. In the process, the eluent or eluant is the "carrier" portion of the mobile phase, which moves the analytes through the chromatograph.

What pH and Pressure Can The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column Sustain?

The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column is designed to withstand a pressure of 18,000 psi (or 1240 Bar) along with a pH range of 2 to 11 and a pore size of 130 Å. However, it is always recommended not to cross the maximum range to ensure the best possible column lifetime and effectiveness.
