The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 columns are a necessary and powerful tool for HPLC method development, complementing the XBridge BEH C18 and C8 phases. In comparison to straight-chain alkyl columns, the embedded carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand provides alternate selectivity, particularly for phenolic compounds.
The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column was created to complement other XBridge offerings, such as the XBridge BEH C18 and C8 phases, and to provide a useful tool for HPLC method development. In contrast to regular straight-chain alkyl columns, the carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand in the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column provides alternate selectivity, particularly for phenolic compounds.
To achieve superior bases, the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column is an excellent choice. Because of the embedded Shield Technology, the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column has reduced silanol interactions with basic analytes. This technology creates a shielding effect in the sample, deactivating interactions with basic analytes and allowing for more symmetrical and efficient peak shapes and peaks. In contrast, other regular C18 columns have poor peak symmetry due to secondary interactions with basic compounds caused by weak cation exchange with residual surface silanols.
