ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 Method Validation Kit, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 150 mm, 3/pk
As the most technologically advanced liquid chromatography columns ever created, Waters’ family of ACQUITY UPLC columns are the only lab equipment designed, tested, and certified to withstand the pressures of UPLC Technology. Built on the highly efficient 1.7 µm Bridged Ethyl Hybrid (BEH) particles, these columns are the first and only columns that enable separation scientists to achieve maximum speed, sensitivity, and resolution without compromises. The particles and chemistries in ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 Columns were chosen carefully to produce an ideal combination of ultra-performance efficiencies, wide pH range, and complementary selectivities.
With the holistic design of ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 columns, chromatographers are able to experience dramatically improved resolution, sample throughout, and sensitivity. Other innovations include small, pressure tolerant particles and high-pressure fluidic modules with minimized system volume and negligible carryover, allowing for reduced cycle times.
This Method Validation kit contains three columns from the ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 column family, each with a different batch of sorbent. Each column is compatible with products in the ACQUITY UPLC line, including the ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 VanGuard Pre-column 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.
ACQUITY UPLC BEH packing materials are designed specifically to be used with the Waters ACQUITY UPLC system and are manufactured in a cGMP, ISO 9001 certified plant using ultra-pure reagent. Each batch of material is tested chromatographically with acidic, basic, and neutral analytes, with the results held to narrow specification ranges that ensure excellent and reproducible performance. Each column includes a Performance Chromatogram and Certificate of Batch Analysis.
What Is The Pressure Limit For ACQUITY UPLC BEH C19 Columns?
Although ACQUITY UPLC BEH columns are made to tolerate pressures up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar or 103 MPa), in order to preserve longer column lifetimes, it’s recommended to operate at lower pressures of 10,000 psi (689 bar or 69 MPa). This allows for an optimal balance between speed (linear velocity or flow rate), resolution, and column lifetime. In addition, ballistic gradients that produce sharp increases in backpressure can adversely impact the column lifetime. Working at the extremes of pressure or any other operating limit will have negative impacts on column lifetime.
