XSelect HSS Cyano (CN) Column, 100Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk

Add the XSelect HSS Cyano (CN) Column to your lab, as it uses an ultra-performance general-purpose propyl cyano bonded phase that provides multiple, critical benefits for chromatographic analysis. The column is easily able to deliver superior peak shape for bases, helps to increase retention, and delivers extremely long column lifetimes at low pH. The factors make it a dependable and important piece of lab equipment. The column can be used in both reversed-phase and normal-phase chromatography. Our series of XSelect HSS CN HPLC columns are fully scalable and transferable to ACQUITY UPLC separations.

Using the XSelect HSS Cyano (CN) Column, you can achieve the best separation in the laboratory and overcome chromatography challenges as the column uses the HSS (High Strength Silica) technology which has been developed by Waters to complement the chromatographic performance of BEH (Ethylene Bridged Hybrid) and CSH (Charged Surface Hybrid) particles. The HSS technology offers higher silanophilicity, resulting in increased polar compound retention and significantly different selectivity. The HSS technology has been developed to carry the mechanical strength necessary to work with the UPLC pressures.

The XSelect HSS Cyano (CN) Column is also suited for when weaker chromatographic retention is required for strongly retained compounds. When using C18 phases, the increase of organic content is relied on to reduce compound retention times. However, the use of a Cyano Column is much more cost-effective in this situation as its moderate retention characteristics enable you to use less organic solvent in the mobile phase, resulting in faster chromatographic analysis.

Waters is committed to producing and delivering exceptional analytical tools to meet your chromatography needs. You can peruse our entire product portfolio as well as shop for lab equipment using our website.

Waters recommends that you also invest in the XSelect HSS Cyano (CN) VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk. The guard cartridge works in conjunction with the XSelect analytical column by attaching to it and protects the column from harm by removing all chemical and particulate matter from the mobile phase. This not only helps to enhance the column’s lifetime, but also ensures that the column continues to deliver outstanding results throughout its service.

What Pressure Can Work With The XSelect HSS Cyano (CN) Column?

The XSelect HSS Cyano (CN) Column can tolerate pressure of up to 6000 psi (400 Bar 40Mpa). However, it is recommended that the operating pressure of 4000-5000 psi be used for the column to ensure it continues to deliver optimum performance without any damage or leakage.
