XSelect HSS T3 Column, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk
With the most diverse range of modern LC columns for method development, the XSelect family of columns offers a combination of base particle composition and ligand bonding that influences analyte selectivity and column performance. This combination is combined with HSS (High Strength Silica) technology to offer a column with superior retention in extremely polar compounds by reversed-phase in high aqueous mobile phases.
The HSS technology in the XSelect HSS T3 Column uses high-pressure-tolerant silica and unique silica bonding in order to create an optimal UPLC experience. This is paired with Waters’ advanced T3 bonding process, utilizing a trifunctional C18 alkyl phase, bonded at a ligand density that promotes polar compound retention and aqueous mobile phase compatibility. The proprietary T3 end-capping process allows for higher efficacy than traditional lab equipment with trimethyl silane (TMS) end-capping. The combination of unique bonding and end-capping processes allows the XSelect HSS T3 Column to provide enhanced retention while also improving column performance, lifetime, peak shape, and stability. Lifetime can be further extended using an XSelect HSS T3 Vanguard Cartridge, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.
This column is sold individually and has an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 250 mm. Each column has been individually tested and will include a Certificate of Batch Analysis and a Performance Chromatogram. All XSelect columns are manufactured in a cGMP, ISO 9001:2000 certified plant, and each step is conducted within narrow tolerances, beginning with ultrapure reagents to control the chemical composition and purity of the final product.
What Solvents Should I Use With an XSelect HSS T3 Column?
In order to maintain maximum column performance, all solvents used should be high-quality, chromatography-grade solvents. Filter any aqueous buffers prior to use; the addition of at least 5% organic to buffers is recommended in order to discourage the growth of bacteria. Waters recommends Acrodisc filters. Solvents that contain suspended particulate materials will usually clog the outside surface of a column’s inlet frit, leading to higher operating pressure and overall poorer performance. All solvents should be degassed prior to use in order to prevent the formation of bubbles in the pump and detector.
