Product Description

The HSS C18 SB (Selectivity for Bases) is an unendcapped, low-coverage C18 bonded-phase column that was designed specifically to provide increased silanophilic interactions. This results in an alternate selectivity compared to a high-coverage fully-endcapped C18 column, particularly for basic compounds.

XSelect HSS C18 SB Column, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 3 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk

The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column is designed for Selectivity for Bases, it is an un-end-capped, low-coverage C18 bonded phase Column uniquely designed to assist in increased silanophonic interactions. The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column's design enables it to have an alternate analyte selectivity in contrast to high-coverage, stationary phase bearing fully end-capped C18 Columns.

The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column is built on HSS--High Strength Silica technology which was designed by Waters to complement the chromatographic performance of 'Ethylene Bridged Hybrid' - BEH and 'Charged Surface Hybrid' - CSH particles. The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column's properties allow it to withstand UPLC pressures, make the Column fully scalable and transferable to UPLC separations, and enable the Column to provide additional advantages to you in your systems, such as different selectivity and higher polar compound.

In order to tackle complex samples, multiple types of particle technologies are required to ensure different varieties of food, and other compounds can be analyzed in depth through chromatography. Waters has created a broad range of lab equipment, including columns with unique, distinct, and proprietary particle technologies to provide exceptional operational stability in your lab. With carefully chosen ligands to complement CSH and HSS technologies in Waters products, you will be able to overcome any chromatographic challenges.

If you are interested in reviewing additional offerings available from Waters, please browse through our website or check out our catalog, from where you can shop for lab equipment so you can replenish your stock as per your laboratory needs.

For complex samples, it is important to isolate and quantify sample constituents using a high resolution during separations. You may be interested in reviewing the XSelect HSS C18 SB Method Validation Kit, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 3/pk. With the XSelect HSS C18 SB Method Validation Kit you can rely on the method validation kit to provide enhanced selectivity for acidic, alkaline, and neutral compounds, as well as to provide enhanced retention for basic polar compounds using low-pH mobile phases.

What Pressure And pH Range Can The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column Operate On?

The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column offers a recommended operational pH range between 2 and 8. The XSelect HSS C18 SB Column is designed to withstand a pressure of 6000psi (or 415 Bar) along with a temperature range between 20- 45 °C. However, it is always recommended not to cross the maximum range as it can have a drastic impact on the column lifetime and effectiveness.
