XBridge BEH C18 OBD Prep Column, 130Å, 5 µm, 19 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk

As the benchmark for ruggedness and longevity in LC methods, XBridge HPLC columns allow chromatographers to use mobile phases in a wide pH range to quickly develop robust methods. This leads to benefits like high pH and temperature stability for increased mass loading of basic compounds. XBridge BEH C18 OBD Prep Columns are built on this reputation and include Optimum Bed Density (OBD) technology, designed to increase productivity through higher recoveries and longer column lifetimes.

OBD Columns allow for fast, efficient, lab-scale separations with greater throughput and the ability to directly scale from UPLC, HPLC, and UHPLC screening to lab-scale purification. The design of OBD columns exhibits exceptional resistance to mechanical chromatographic bed failure, delivering consistent performance between columns while reducing cost through extending lifetimes. This is all done with the productivity of laboratories in mind, allowing for screening with high resolution and speed and increased throughput compared to other lab equipment. Lifetimes can be extended further using an XBridge C18 Prep Guard Cartridge, 130Å, 5 µm, 19 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk.

By combining OBD technology with the rugged XBridge BEH C18 sorbent, XBridge BEH C18 OBD Prep Columns lead to improved pH stability and proven mechanical stability. The inclusion of the trifunctionally bonded C18 ligand provides a universal column for most HPLC separations, giving chromatographers the widest usable pH range, superior low pH stability, and ultra-low column bleed. As a workhorse for HPLC method development, Preparative Chromatography Mix Standard can be used over the entire range of mobile phase pH, 1 to 12.

What Guard Columns Should Be Used With XBridge BEH C18 OBD Prep Columns?

A Waters guard column of matching chemistry and particle size between the injector and main column should be used. It is also critical to use a high-performance matching guard column to protect the main column without compromising or changing the analytical resolution. Guard columns should be replaced at regular intervals as determined by sample contamination. This may be indicated by a sudden appearance of split peaks or steady increases in system backpressure above a set pressure limit. The latter often means a column should be replaced.
