XBridge BEH C18 Column, 130Å, 5 µm, 2.1 mm X 50 mm, 1/pk
By employing trifunctional bonding and advanced end-capping, XBridge BEH C18 Columns offer excellent reproducibility, performance, and column lifetimes across the entire pH range, showing why this lab equipment is considered the workhorse of LC methods development. This universal column works for most HPLC separations and is based on the trifunctionally bonded C18 ligand, offering a wide usable pH range, superior low pH stability, an ultra-low column bleed.
XBridge BEH C18 Columns are able to improve the low pH stability of bonded phases by using proprietary trifunctional bonding and end-capping. Under accelerated low pH test conditions, XBridge BEH C18 Columns show little retention compared to other columns. At the same time, XBridge particles incorporate ethylene bridges within the silica matrix which resist particle dissolution, leading to chemical stability in accelerated high pH lifetimes. This combination is possible due to the inclusion of the BEH Technology particle, which enables the use of XBridge BEH C18 Columns at a higher pH than conventional columns and therefore pH switching without performance decreases.
XBridge columns are able to provide consistent results due to Waters’ commitment to setting the industry benchmark for reproducibility between batches. All columns are manufactured in the same cGMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 certified facilities, ensuring that method scientists can achieve the same separation quality year after year. As a primary manufacturer of silica and hybrid particles, Waters is able to continually monitor and control the complete manufacturing process. In addition to strict chromatographic testing during the manufacturing phase, further testing can be performed using the Reversed-Phase QC Reference Material available through Waters.
How Should I Perform Column Equilibration On XBridge BEH C18 Columns?
All XBridge columns are shipped in 100% acetonitrile. It is critical to ensure mobile phase compatibility before changing to a different mobile phase system. The column should be equilibrated with a minimum of 10 column volumes of the mobile phase to be used. To avoid precipitating out mobile phase buffers on your column or in the system, flush the column with five column volumes of a water/organic solvent mixture with the same or lower solvent content as in the desired buffered mobile phase.
