SunFire C8 Column, 100Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk
Based on years of product development and research, SunFire columns represent the best in particle and bonding expertise. The SunFire C8 Column consistently delivers industry-leading levels of chromatographic performance and has always set the standard in state-of-the-art bonded silica HPLC columns. The SunFire C8 column is based on the C8 ligands, which is preferred for some assays because it is less hydrophobic and therefore less retentive than lab equipment that is instead based on the C18 ligand.
SunFire C8 Columns are made using new bonding and end-capping technologies, allowing for a sorbent with superior peak shape performance. With symmetrical peaks, SunFire columns provide symmetrical peaks for improving resolution and quantitation of acidic, neutral, and basic compounds at low and intermediate pH ranges. With low pH stability superior to many other silica-based HPLC column brands, column lifetime is improved and can be further extended using a SunFire C8 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.
Compatible with mass spectrometry applications, SunFire C8 Columns provide sharp peaks, excellent sensitivity, high peak capacity, and ultra-low bleed. Additionally, a combination of proprietary technologies produce these columns with high efficiency.
SunFire packing materials are manufactured in an ISO 9000 certified plant using ultra-pure reagents. Each batch of material is tested chromatographically with acidic, basic, and neutral analytes, with the results held to narrow specification ranges. This ensures excellent, reproducible performance. All columns include a Performance Chromatogram and a Certificate of Batch Analysis.
Operating ranges include a maximum pressure of 6000 psi (415 bar), 2 – 8 pH, and a temperature of 20 to 50 degrees C.
How Should I Store A SunFire C8 Column?
For periods longer than four days at room temperature, store columns in 100% acetonitrile at room temperature. In elevated temperature applications, store immediately after use in 100% acetonitrile for optimal column lifetime. Do not store columns in buffered eluents. If your mobile phase contained a buffer salt, flush the column with 10 column volumes of HPLC grade water and replace with 100% acetonitrile for storage. Failure to perform this intermediate step could result in precipitation of the buffer salt in the column when 100% acetonitrile is introduced.
