Product Description

SunFire C8 columns are used for general purpose method development at low pH. The C8 ligand is preferred for some assays because it is less hydrophobic and therefore less retentive compared to SunFire C18.

SunFire C8 Column, 100Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk

The SunFire C8 Column yields increased column lifetime by offering low pH stability, setting it apart from many traditional silica-based HPLC Columns. Utilizing proprietary, state-of-the-art silica synthesis, end-capping, and packing technologies, the SunFire C8 Column provides high efficiency and greater sensitivity.

Compared to SunFire C18, many chromatographers prefer SunFire C8 because it is less hydrophobic and thus less retentive to SunFire C18. You can use the SunFire C8 Column through a range of mass spectrometry applications. The SunFire Columns have been designed to provide sharp peaks, ultra-low bleed, with excellent sensitivity and high peak capacity. With the application of the SunFire C8 Column, you will save costs and analysis time as it supplies excellent resolution, low back pressure, and speed.

SunFire C8 Columns are highly dependable to provide the same chromatographic results over the lifetime of the column, the life of the method, and your new product. This feature is possible as the analytical column has been designed for the establishment of new analytical methods for both the latest biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical products. The SunFire C8 Columns will exhibit superior reproducibility from batch-to-batch, column-to-column, year-to-year.

Used in conjunction with your SunFire C8 column, the VanGuard Cartridge is used to protect your column and extend its lifetime. This is achieved by removing all chemical and particulate contaminants from the mobile phase, and it makes your analysis accurate, precise, and reliable every time.

How Should SunFire C8 Column Be Stored?

The SunFire C8 Column should be stored at room temperature in 100% acetonitrile for any periods longer than four days. In applications where temperature is elevated, store in 100% acetonitrile immediately after use to ensure that the column lasts a long time. Buffered eluents should be avoided for the storage of the column; however, if a buffer salt was included in the mobile phase, flush the column with 10 column volumes of HPLC grade water and replace it with 100% acetonitrile for storage. Otherwise, there is a risk of precipitation of the buffer salt inside the Column.
