Atlantis dC18 Column, 100Å, 3 µm, 2.1 mm X 50 mm, 1/pk
Atlantis dC18 columns are designed to offer a perfect balance of excellent retention of both polar and non polar compounds without exhibiting excessive retention of hydrophobic compounds. The Atlantis dC18 columns feature di-functionally bonded C18 ligands that have been optimized for use with highly aqueous mobile phases, including 100% water. This column provides you with enhanced stability for low pH separations and reliable resistance to dewetting.
The optimization of key stationary attributes such as the ligand type, pore size, endcapping, and density create ideal peak shape and polar compound retention. This innovative stationary phase enables the reversed phase HPLC system to separate highly polar analytes that other reversed phase HPLC columns cannot attain.
The combination of polar compound retention, excellent peak shape, and full LC/MS compatibility makes the Atlantis dC18 a unique tool for a variety of your LC separation needs. This column is tested with extremely narrow tolerances and is produced in a cGMP, ISO 9001:2000 certified plant that sets the standard for production of high quality lab equipment.
The fully endcapped feature of this column allows for the retention of hydrophilic compounds such as Thiourea or 5-Fluorocytosine without any compromise to the premier peak shape produced. Separations for amine-containing bases are often run under acidic conditions which can cause lost retention ability and shorten column lifetimes. This occurs because cleavage of the siloxane bond causes the bonded phase to be degraded. Atlantis dC18 columns address this issue by incorporating a difunctional silane bonding chemistry that is incredibly stable under acidic mobile phase conditions. This feature will save you the astronomical cost of prematurely replacing your LC columns used in acidic separations.
LC columns are also vulnerable to damage caused by harmful particulate contamination in the mobile phase stream. This chemical contamination can cause impaired functionality and shorten the lifetime of your LC Columns. If you want to protect your column from these harmful contaminants you may want to check out our Atlantis Silica dC18 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 3 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk. This cartridge is optimized to protect all 2.1 mm and 3.0 mm I.D. Atlantis dC18 analytical columns containing 3 µm sorbent particles. This package contains durable column cartridges that can help protect your Atlantis dC18 Columns. This investment in your LC columns will save you the time and resources involved with replacing your damaged columns prematurely.
How do I equilibrate my dC18 Column?
Atlantis columns are packed and shipped in 100% acetonitrile. It is important to ensure solvent compatibility before changing to a new solvent. Equilibrate with a minimum of 10 column volumes of the mobile phase to be used.
