How does the Symmetry C18 Prep Guard Cartridge work? Packed with the same column packing material that the Symmetry C18 Column has, this guard cartridge is placed between the mobile phase injector and column to act as an extra step of filtration before any separations occur. To ensure that adding this guard cartridge is chemically and mechanically stable for your workflow, this cartridge also offers the same inner diameter as the Symmetry C18 Column. Plus, if you’re concerned about how adding a cartridge might affect pH resistance, you don’t have to be. The Symmetry C18 Prep Guard Cartridge offers the same pH levels as its corresponding column.
The Symmetry C18 Prep Guard Cartridge isn’t all you need to properly install this cartridge into your workflow, though. You still need a 19 mm X 10 mm Prep Guard Holder to hold the cartridge in place. This prep guard holder is required for proper installation of the cartridge.
