Symmetry Shield RP18 Column, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 2.1 mm X 100 mm, 1/pk
The SymmetryShield RP18 Column is based on Waters' proprietary integrated polar group technology, which effectively protects silica's leftover surface silanols from extremely basic analytes. Surface silanol activity is further reduced due to the unique column characteristics and the proximity of the embedded polar group to the silica surface, resulting in better peak shape and resolution. Waters' patented embedded polar group technology "shields" the silica residual silanol surface from highly basic analytes in these reversed-phase columns. The reduced silanol activity of the SymmetryShield RP18 column improves peak shape and resolution significantly.
The SymmetryShield RP18 Column is designed for very aqueous mobile phases, particularly when low organic mobile phase conditions are required. The SymmetryShield RP18 Column is designed to prevent pore dewetting because the implanted polar group preserves the wetted-pore surface. The design of the equipment ensures that your analyte is retained, removing the need for a time-consuming re-wetting and column re-equilibration procedure.
This laboratory equipment is designed to provide the smallest ligand surface coverage (ligand density) in the industry, resulting in exceptional reproducibility. The high operational capacity and negligible resolution shifts improve batch-to-batch and column-to-column repeatability. The Symmetry Shield RP18 Column is also designed to last a long time and save you money on lab equipment by providing optimal performance. It combines two major factors that influence the column's lifetime: the hydrolytic stability of the packing material and the mechanical stability of the packed bed.

You should also review Symmetry Shield RP18 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk; SymmetryShield RP18 VanGuard Cartridges are used to extend the lifetime and performance of analytical columns by removing particulate contamination from the mobile phase stream. This cartridge has been designed to protect all 2.1 mm and 3.0 mm I.D. Symmetry Shield RP18 analytical columns with 3.5 µm sorbent particles.
What Is The pH Range Recommended For Use With The Symmetry Shield Column?
The Symmetry Shield RP18 Column can easily operate in the pH range of 2 to 8, but working at extreme pressures, pH, and/or temperatures will result in shorter column lifetimes.
