CORTECS Phenyl Column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 150 mm, 3/pk
Due to analyte interactions with the benzyl ring, the CORTECS Phenyl Column offers alternate selectivity to C8 and C18 stationary phases. The changes in selectivity for this phase are most noticeable for aromatic compounds, especially when methanol is used as the organic modifier. In addition, the lab equipment can deliver ultra-low column MS bleed, a long lifetime, and outstanding peak shape.
When compared to totally porous particles of identical particle size, choose the Waters CORTECS Phenyl Column to reduce operating back pressure and achieve excellent efficiency. This allows you to use typical LC instruments to conduct procedures while preserving efficiency and resolution. Longer columns can be used in complex sample combinations to improve resolution for co-eluting peaks.
CORTECS Phenyl columns complement C18 stationary phases by providing further selectivity. When compared to fully porous particles of similar size, the particle morphology offers high efficiency and lower back pressures. CORTECS Phenyl gives you ultra-low column MS bleed, long lives ,and superb peak form.
The CORTECS Phenyl Column packing materials were designed specifically for the ACQUITY UPLC System and are manufactured in a cGMP, ISO 9001 accredited facility using ultra-pure reagents. To ensure superior and repeatable performance, each batch of CORTECS Phenyl Column packing material is chromatographically tested with acidic, basic, and neutral analytes, with results held within limited specification ranges. After each column is analyzed separately on the eCordTM Intelligent Chip, a Performance Chromatogram and Certificate of Batch Analysis are generated. The bonded phase batch number, as well as the analytical test findings, are included on the Certificate of Analysis.

Compatible with the CORTECS Phenyl Column, you may be interested in checking out CORTECS Phenyl VanGuard Pre-column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk; CORTECS Phenyl VanGuard Pre-Columns are used to extend analytical column lifetime and performance by removing particulate contamination from the mobile phase stream. This Pre-Column is optimized to protect all CORTECS UPLC Phenyl analytical columns containing 1.6 µm sorbent particles.
Why Can Only Cations Be Detected by Mass Spectrometry?
Only ions will be identified by mass spectrometry, which measures the mass of charged particles. Neutral molecules will not be detected.
