CORTECS C18 Column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 100 mm, 3/pk
As the performance standard, CORTECS UPLC 1.6 µm solid core particle columns provide the highest possible column efficiencies when used with low-dispersive UPLC lab equipment. CORTECS C18 Columns enable chromatographers across the globe to achieve new levels of efficiency and performance in a range of applications, from resolving complex mixtures to maintaining resolution while increasing throughput. The addition of C18 ligands offers excellent retention and stability while exhibiting a balanced retention of acids, bases, and neutrals across low and mid-range pH. In addition, the column offers superb efficiency, resolution, and retention in complex analyte mixtures.
The solid-core particle used in CORTECS C18 Columns allow for not only improved efficiency but also increased throughput without compromising the efficiency, along with higher performance that does not change backpressure. This technology enables throughput to be increased by simply raising the flow of the method while achieving a comparable or improved peak shape. An alternative option is available in which the increased efficiency enables use of a shorter column length while maintaining peak capacities and shortening re-equilibration time. This increased analysis speed maintains separation performance, giving chromatographers the option to run more samples in the same time frame and to get results faster, reducing analysis and operation costs.
CORTECS columns exhibit maximum chromatographic performance and benefits when used within the holistically-designed ACQUITY UPLC System, as they were created for use with it. As part of the ACQUITY UPLC system, all materials are manufactured in a cGMP ISO 9001 certified plant. Accompanying products like the CORTECS Solid Core C18 VanGuard Pre-column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk can improve lifetime and performance.
Why Are Solid-Core Columns Preferred?
Modern-day solid-core columns have a range of benefits that make them popular amongst many chromatographers. These particles are able to provide a higher efficiency compared to fully porous particles of equivalent particle sizes, while also offering lower backpressure compared to these same counterparts. Compared to a fully porous particle, a solid-core particle has a non-porous center core with a “bumpy” outer shell. The particle size distribution is also narrow when compared with fully porous particles. This thicker shell and multi-layered structure allows for better loading capacity and improvements in packing.
