The use of an internal standard best compensates for the variability generated in sample hydrolysis and amino acid analysis. Internal standard norvaline is lyophilized pre-weighed powder. When reconstituted in 6 mL of 0.1M HCl, Norvaline concentration is 0.25 μmol/mL.
