Automate sample processing, increase throughput, and maintain temperature control

Increasing throughput is a priority for today’s labs. With the Waters Sample Organizer, your team can store multiple microtiter or vial plates and transfer them to and from the sample manager, automating sample processing. The sample organizer’s storage shelf compartment can hold a selection of ANSI plates. Heaters and coolers thermally condition the shelf compartment and together with the sample manager’s heater/cooler, maintain the temperature at a set point determined by the user.

The Waters Sample Organizer increases sample capacity to 19 microtiter plates or nine intermediate height plates (or 2-mL vial holders) or six deep-well plates (or 4-mL vial holders). Users can insert or remove plates from the Sample Organizer at their discretion and transfer to the Sample Manager in a user-programmable manner. Any sample position may be accessed at any time. Sample temperature is controlled from 4 to 40 °C (with a range of -2 to +4 °C at a set point of 4 °C) to promote sample stability.

Specifications

Number of sample plates:

Total of up to: 19 standard microtiter plates, 9 intermediate height plates (or 2-mL vial holders), or 6 deep-well plates (or 4-mL vial holders), and combinations thereof positioned in the Sample Organizer

Maximum sample capacity:

Total of up to 7680 samples in 20 384-well plates or 480 2-mL vials in 10 48-vial holders when configured with an ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager

Plate exchange (retrieval and replace) time:

<15 seconds

Sample temperature control:

4.0 to 40.0 °C, programmable in 1.0 °C, At an ambient temperature of 21.0 °C (69.8 °F) or lower, the sample organizer will maintain the temperature of the compartment down to 4.0 °C (39.2 °F with a tolerance of 2.0/+ 6.0 °C (3.6/+10.8 °F). This performance is independent of the number of samples and shelves in place. For ambient temperatures above 21.0 °C (69.8 °F), there is a delta of 17.0 °C (30.6 °F) from actual ambient temperature.

Dimensions:

Height: 95.5 cm (38.0 in)
