Product Description

Primarily used for legacy methods. If you are developing a new method, please consider our newer technology AccQ Tag Ultra C18 Columns for superior separation, speed, sensitivity, and resolution. The AccQ•Tag Amino Acid Analysis 4 µm Column was our first generation offering that was developed and certified for use with the AccQ•Tag method. These HPLC columns separate the amino acid derivatives produced by the AccQ•Fluor derivatization reaction. Use of Waters AccQ•Tag Ultra C18 2.5 µm offering is recommended for those wanting accurate amino acid analysis on an appropriate Waters LC System.

AccQ-Tag Column, 60Å, 4 µm, 3.9 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk

For separation technology that offers high throughput, sensitivity, and peak capacity when compared with traditional HPLC systems, the Waters UPLC Amino Acid Analysis Solution combines UPLC technology with AccQ-Tag Ultra Derivatization Chemistry. Waters AccQ-Tag chemistries, when used in conjunction with the Waters UPLC Amino Acid Analysis Solution, is used for the analysis of protein and peptide hydrosalates for identification and characterization, cell culture media, and the nutritional composition of foods and feeds all in less time than typical HPLC separations require.

The AccQ-Tag Ultra Derivatization Kit contains all necessary lab equipment for these separations, including the AccQ-Tag Column with 4 µm particle, which is designed for the separation of hydrolysate amino acids that have been derivatized according to the AccQ-Tag method. This is a high-efficiency column specifically certified for use with this method, allowing for sub-picomolar detection limits to be achieved.

The AccQ-Tag column has an inner diameter of 3.9 mm and a length of 150 mm with a surface area of 120. This is a silica-based column with a pore size of 60 Å, utilizing C18 chemistry and offering a pH range of 2 to 8. One column comes in each package.

The full system includes optimized instruments, prepackaged reagents, and extensive documentation designed to work in conjunction for optimal results in amino acid analysis. The AccQ-Tag Amino Acid Column is manufactured in Waters ISO 9002-certified facilities under strict guidelines in order to assure the highest possible quality of products and reproducible chromatography with maximized column lifetimes.

How Do I Ensure Optimal Performance In AccQ-Tag Columns?

In order to achieve the best possible outcomes, operating pressure of 26 MPa/260 atm or 4000 psi should not be exceeded and all eluents should be filtered with a 0.22 pm membrane filter. No turbid or cloudy eluents should ever be used. It is best practice to protect the column from vibration and mechanical shock, as well as any rapid changes in pressure that may result from rapid changes in eluent composition or flow rate. Any water used should always be purified with a Millipore Water System that is capable of delivering 19 megohm water. De-ionized water may contain organic compounds that can alter column selectivity.
