Waters nano- and microflow LC-MS columns are specifically designed for low-dispersion nano LC systems.
The selected stationary phases fully leverage the separation power of sub-2-µm particle technology. This delivers the efficiency and selectivity required for complex separations such as discovery of low abundance species, peptide mapping, protein identification, and biomarker discovery.
Separation TechnologyThe ability to reproducibly generate high quality peptide and protein separations is of critical importance in proteomics research as well as biopharmaceutical characterization. Waters Ethylene-Bridged Hybrid (BEH) and Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) peptide and protein nano columns help address these demanding needs. The mechanically tolerant High Strength Silica [HSS] particle technology was developed to compliment Waters Hybrid Particle Technology. HSS allows for silica-based LC separations under UPLC conditions. The particle technology provides increased retentivity for polar analytes compared to hybrid particles. |
ScalabilityAll column formats are packed with the same Waters BEH, CSH or HSS particles. Scientists can rely on the same selectivity, retentivity, and efficiency for peptide separations, protein identification, and other biomolecule analysis across a wide range of column diameters. |
Column Technology
Separation/Analytical Columns Analytical columns with an inner diameter between 75 µm - 300 µm can fully utilize the efficiency of sub-2-µm particles at flow rates between 100 nL/min and 50 µL/min, withstanding 15,000 psi. The varying characteristics of available particle technologies provide alternate selectivity, retentivity, and loadability, thus flexibility to achieve the most suitable separation for complex LC-MS analyses. Trap Columns Trap columns are used to desalt and enrich the sample before eluting onto the analytical column. For fast loading of the trap column and to reduce cycle time, trap columns are packed with larger 5-µm particles. |
nanoEase M/Z ColumnsThe nanoEase M/Z Columns and Trap Columns are pre-assembled with ZenFit Connectors. The easy-to-use, re-useable, fingertight connections, withstanding 15,000 psi at 90 °C, greatly simplify creating critical nano- and microflow UPLC fluid connections. Using nanoEase M/Z Columns will greatly reduce the flow-path induced variability in chromatographic results. ZenFit Connectors are designed to be used in V-detail style connections ports. The V-detail connection port is a 10-32 threaded port for 1/16” O.D. tubing. |
ACQUITY UPLC M-Class ColumnsThe classic ACQUITY UPLC M-Class Columns are equipped with the traditional conical M-detail fittings (6-40 for 1/32”). They are suitable for use with the classic nanoACQUITY UPLC and ACQUITY UPLC M-Class Systems which have not been upgraded for use with ZenFit Connectors. |
