In the first part of this series, Temperature and Pressure In Modern Chromatography, Part 1: Theoretical Considerations (Waters White Paper, Literature Code 720001575EN), the use of elevated temperature in LC was examined from a theoretical perspective. Author Neue stated that the main advantages of higher temperatures in LC are an improvement in speed of analysis and the capability to adjust selectivity. In the second part of the series, we will use actual examples to demonstrate the benefits of higher temperature in LC.
