As President and CEO of Waters Corporation, Dr. Batra brings more than two decades of leadership and operational expertise in the healthcare and life sciences industries. He has a proven track record leading multi-billion-dollar global organizations and driving results at the top of the industry.
Before joining Waters in September 2020, Dr. Batra served as CEO of the $7.7 billion life science business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, which operates as MilliporeSigma in the United States and Canada. In 2015, Dr. Batra led the formation of MilliporeSigma, with the largest merger in the life science tools industry at the time. Dr. Batra led the team that oversaw a strategic and operational transformation of the business that drove record sales growth and margin development. From 2011-2013, as CEO of Merck KGaA’s consumer health business, Dr. Batra led a period which saw doubling of the business’ profitability and achieving organic growth in the top tier of the industry.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Batra served in a range of leadership positions at Novartis, a Swiss multinational pharmaceutical company. In addition to leading Corporate Strategy and Global Public Health and Market Access for Vaccines and Diagnostics, he also served as president of the Australia Pharma business. During his tenure, this subsidiary became the fastest-growing business amongst competitors in Australia and in Novartis. Throughout his career, Dr. Batra has championed science education, especially for low-income students, developed and promoted women’s leadership, and has been a strong advocate for increasing diversity across the organizations he has led.
Dr. Batra has received numerous leadership accolades and recognition, including being named 2020 New Englander of the Year by the New England Council, 2019 NECA Business Person of the Year, Pharmavoice Top 100 Most Inspirational People (2017-2019), Boston Business Journal’s 2019 Power 50 and the 2016 CPhl Pharma CEO of the Year.
Currently, Dr. Batra is the Chairman of the Massachusetts High Tech Council and is a member of the Board at both the Boston Chamber of Commerce and MassBio. He serves on the Advisory Council of the chemical engineering departments of Princeton University and University of Delaware, where he also earned both a Ph.D. and a B.S. in chemical engineering, respectively.
Keeley Aleman was appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Waters Corporation in 2019. Ms. Aleman joined Waters Corporation in 2006 as the Assistant General Counsel and in her time at Waters, she has served in various roles, including as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, Associate General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel for Waters advising on business transactions, commercial strategies, international development, intellectual property, compliance, corporate governance and organizational matters.
Prior to joining Waters, Keeley held the positions of Corporate Associate at Goodwin Procter LLP and Corporate Associate at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP, where she represented public companies in all aspects of business and securities law issues and transactions and represented private companies in ongoing general corporate matters, including financings, mergers and acquisition and corporate maintenance.
She earned her B.A., with honors, from University of California at Davis in 1998 and received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 2003.

Michael Silveira was named interim Chief Financial Officer of Waters Corporation in January 2021. He has direct responsibility for all aspects of the Finance and Information Technology organizations and is focused on executing Waters’ enterprise strategy to build long-term value creation. Michael oversees Investor Relations, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and more.
Michael joined Waters in 2004 as Assistant Corporate Controller; and was appointed Vice President and Corporate Controller in 2013. In early 2018, he assumed oversight of treasury, tax and corporate financial planning and analysis, and accounting and external reporting.
Prior to joining the Waters team, Michael held several senior financial management positions with Astro-Med, Inc (nka AstroNova), Textron, Inc. and KPMG.
He earned a B.S. Accounting from Providence College and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Rob Carson joined the team in February 2018 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of Waters Corporation. In this role, he leads the company’s M&A, corporate venture capital and strategy development efforts. His responsibilities also include corporate communications.
Rob’s background spans general management, marketing, strategy, change leadership and capital markets finance. Prior to joining the Waters team, he was Vice President & General Manager of Medtronic’s cardiac pacemaker business and spent 16 years at Medtronic with roles in the company's Spine business, Neuro business and Investor Relations group. Rob also worked for four years at Banc of America Securities as an Investment Banking Analyst and Associate.
He received his B.S. from the University of Virginia and his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mike Harrington was appointed to Senior Vice President of Waters Global Markets in 2016. He is responsible for Waters Field Operations and Marketing Organization worldwide. Mike has a long-standing career with Waters. In 1995, Mike re-joined Waters as the General Manager of our Phase Separations business in the UK, successfully integrating that newly-acquired business into the Waters Chemistry Operations. Mike then transferred to the US in 1998, serving as the Director of US Chemistry Sales, and later as the Senior Director of the US Sales Operations, responsible for the entire portfolio of Waters instruments, mass spectrometry and consumables products.
In 2006, Mike was promoted to Vice President, European Operations, responsible for EMEA and India, based at the European Headquarters in France. Mike restructured Western Europe from fifteen independent countries into three Regions, thereby increasing our operational effectiveness and efficiency. The business in Europe has grown under Mike’s leadership from $350M in 2005 to almost $500M in 2011, while maintaining strong profitability and contribution.
In August 2011, Mike took on an expanded role in the newly-created position of Vice President of European and Asia Pacific Operations, with full P&L responsibility for almost two-thirds of Waters worldwide business and an organization of over 2,000 sales, service and support staff.
Before arriving at Waters, Mike joined Millipore in the UK as a Sales Representative in London, later becoming a Regional Sales Manager, and then National Sales Manager for the Analytical and Bioscience Division. In 1994, Mike joined Celsis Inc as Sales and Marketing manager for the UK and Nordics.
Mike earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Trinity College, Dublin in 1986
Belinda Hyde was appointed SVP, Global Human Resources of Waters Corporation in January 2021. She is responsible for all aspects of the Global Human Resources function including talent management, total rewards, HR business partners, HR operations and technology, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion.
Prior to joining Waters, Belinda served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for SPX FLOW and Schnitzer Steel. She has also held leadership roles in business and cultural transformation, executive development, talent management, compensation, benefits, training, internal communications, and business partner support at companies such as Caltex Petroleum, Dell Technologies, Invitrogen, and Celanese Corporation.
Belinda earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Texas, as well as both a master’s degree and doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Houston.
Ian King was appointed Senior Vice President, Global Products of Waters Corporation in 2016. In this role, Mr. King is responsible for Research, Development and Product Management of Waters branded products.
Ian joined Waters in 1982 as a laboratory chemist in the United Kingdom, and has since served as Vice President, Separations Technologies and Vice President and General Manager of Consumable Division, in addition to a variety of scientific and management positions in Waters’ international subsidiaries.
Prior to joining Waters, Ian worked at Edinburgh University as a research scientist in clinical pharmacology and toxicology studying the pharmacokinetics of investigational new drugs and elucidating the toxicological mechanisms of acetaminophen poisoning.
He graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in Clinical Biochemistry
Jonathan M. Pratt was named Senior Vice President and President of TA Instruments at Waters Corporation in 2019. In this role, Jonathan leads TA’s business committee and is responsible for overall global strategic planning and upholding the company vision. Directly reporting to the CEO of Waters Corporation, he supervises TA Instruments’ top-level management, and is accountable for the financial health and management of the organization. Jonathan also serves on the Board of SPX FLOW, Inc. as an independent director and a member of the Audit, Compensation, and Nominating & Governance Committees, as of August 2020.
Prior to joining Waters, Jonathan was President of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, where he spearheaded efforts that drove improved operating profit and revenue growth both organically and through acquisitions. In addition, he held senior positions at Danaher Corporation and at Pall Corporation, where he was President of its Food & Beverage, Laboratory and ForteBio businesses.
He holds a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Reading, UK and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Dan Welch was appointed Senior Vice President, Global Operations in 2020. He is responsible for Waters’ worldwide Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Facilities, HSE, Quality and Regulatory. Dan joined Waters in 2012 as Senior Director, Milford Manufacturing Operations. In 2017 he moved into the Supply Chain organization initially as Senior Director, Materials Management and then as VP Global Supply Chain where he was responsible for planning, sourcing distribution, logistics and trade.
Prior to Waters, he served as Vice President of Operations for Advanced Electron Beam and Vice President of Operations for Evergreen Solar, spending six years in the world of venture backed start-ups. Dan started his career with Intel Corporation where he worked for 23 years in progressive Engineering and Engineering Management roles.
Dan earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University.
