Combines High-speed Switching Between Electrospray Ionization (ESI) and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization (APCI)
The ESCi Multi-Mode Ionization Source combines high-speed switching between electrospray ionization (ESI) and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization (APCI) within the ion source, enabling you to use MS methods with differing combinations and durations of both ESI and APCI within the same analysis.
Although electrospray ionization (ESI) is a successful analysis technique for many compound classes, less polar analytes may require atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI). Therefore the ESCI Multi-Mode Ionization source could be an ideal solution for laboratories investigating compounds with a wide range of chemical structures and properties.
The flexible ionization capabilities of the ESCi source can also minimize the need for multiple LC/MS injections or repeat analyses of failed samples using an alternative ionization mode.

Equipment and Installation
The ESCi source conversion kit includes a new high-voltage power supply, corona pin and user guide. The power supply requires installation by a Waters Field Service Engineer. Operation confirmation and training is also provided.
